😎 Hot Summer Nights Festival 2022

The Red River Cultural District’s annual free music festival returns for three nights this weekend, featuring more than 100 local artists. Although admission is free, the festival helps raise funds for site staff and local artists.

🎭 Mean Girls the Musical

Based on the beloved 2004 classic film of the same name, “Mean Girls” hits the Bass Concert Hall stage with a musical twist. Follow Cady Heron in a new way as she navigates the high school animal world and learns who to be a true friend. Tickets start at $45.

🍹 Marguerite’s madness

I hold two glasses in my hands but only one can be named the next best margarita. Participate in a parenthesis-style competition that runs throughout the month to try all eight margaritas, then nominate your favorite for the final. Tickets start at $18.

🎵 Big Time Rush “Forever” Tour

Soak up some nostalgia as you see 2010s boy band Big Time Rush perform on stage as part of a leg of their “Forever” reunion tour. Tickets start at $23.

Rappers Wiz Khalifa and Logic come to see you live and on stage as part of their joint “Vinyl Verse” tour. You can get a lawn ticket for as little as $23 or a seat for $25.

🎥 Friday Movies at the Moody Amphitheater

Celebrating a slice of Texas history, Moody Amphitheater features the 1997 film “Selena” in this week’s Friday Flick. Stop early for a performance by the Selena Bidi Bidi Banda tribute band and the movie begins as the sun sets. Free entry.

🏳️‍🌈 ATX Queer Music Festival

The first annual ATX Queer Music Fest kicks off at Luster Pearl to benefit Austin-area sexual health and wellness services. Along with live musical performances from Mama Duke, Chief Cleopatra and Caleb De Casper, there will be drag shows, markets to browse and free goodies. Tickets are $5 for all ages and events are 21+ after 7 p.m.

🎸 Leon Bridges: the visit without limits
