Lizette Marie Interior Design (lizettemarie.com) is currently looking for a full time Interior Designer to report to Director and Owner Lizette Marie. Our main mission at LMID is to turn our clients’ luxury lifestyle vision into reality. We do this by listening to our clients, interpreting their voices, improving their vision and delivering results.

Responsibilities of the interior designer:

Architect / Designer

  • Work directly with the manager to develop high quality designs, drawings and documents during all phases of projects, from creation of design ideas to construction administration

  • Generate and interpret construction documents for complex high-end residential projects. Review CDs for accuracy

  • Prepare design illustrations or sketches and presentation graphics, and create digital models

  • Oversee and execute the entire design, both consumer goods and construction, and ensure it matches client expectations (budget and schedule) and aesthetics as also indicated by the manager

  • Articulate design concepts through pin-ups, slides and sketching sessions

  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding floor, space, furnishings and elevations that communicate design intent

  • Select all furniture for approval by the manager in charge, including custom product design

Project Manager

  • Develop, supervise and manage the scope, cost and schedule of the project through the installation in collaboration with the director and studio director

  • Oversee the creation of the project timeline with the studio director

  • Manage project deadlines with the studio director by leading the team with a clear direction of deliverables

  • Liaise and develop long term relationships alongside Principal with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers and design showrooms through frequent communications and status updates

  • Actively participate in weekly site meetings, liaising with architects, owner’s representatives and other external team members as needed.

  • Delegate construction tasks to the internal team to maintain the critical path

  • Prepare and deliver design presentations for clients, manager and design team

  • Manage project quality control / Oversee and manage issues with the design team, contractors, suppliers and customers / Work with the design team to help them identify and document issues or conflicts and then determine solutions

  • Keep all project information in Dropbox, Asana, and G-sheets

  • Resolve any issues that may arise with the product or facilities to ensure customer satisfaction at all times

  • Supervision of installation and work sites, as well as quality control of all finished products

Management team

  • Effectively communicate the director’s design vision and aesthetics to the design team

  • Distribute and delegate tasks; oversee the progress of the design team to meet all deadlines

  • Manage and supervise the design team; oversee the team’s creation of all phases from initial design concept to installation, maintenance of proposals for each project and design plan documents are properly created and maintained by the team

  • Mentor and coach the design team prior to internal presentations to the director to ensure the team is ready and meets all design aspect expectations

  • Lead internal design meetings with the team and / or manager

Diplomas and requirements:

  • More than 5 years of experience in a residential interior design or high-end architectural firm with construction experience

  • Knowledge of custom manufacturing

  • In-depth understanding of the construction and development and execution of permit packages

  • In-depth knowledge of design principles and standards

  • Strong field observation skills

  • Ability to convey design options through a sketch, 3D model, or other visual aids

  • High proficiency in the Adobe suite

  • Excellent command of Mac; G-suites, Quickbooks, Vectorworks and Asana are a plus

  • Excellent understanding of interior / residential materials, vendors and terminology

  • Mastery of communication; Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of the audience when clearly articulating information, ie. clients, builders, architects, suppliers, design team

  • Solid space planning and understanding of feasibility

  • Big picture and detailed thinker

  • Comfortable making decisions and maintaining a high level of confidentiality

  • Agile to move from Project to Project and assimilate new information

  • Access to the car with a valid driver’s license
