Joyce and Ron Wanek donated $375,000 to the school’s interior design program
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Western Technical College’s interior design program is getting a financial boost.
The La Crosse-based school opened the Joyce Wanek Center for Arts and Design on Wednesday morning.
Wanek, a 1979 Western alum, and her husband, Ron, donated $375,000 to the interior design program through their foundation.
Western will use the money to buy new technology, upgrade equipment and support staff for the next three years.
“They can also move their offices around as appropriate for the business at hand,” said Jennifer Stangl, interior design program director. “We also have a collaborative space.
The Joyce Wanek Center for Art and Design is on the third floor of Western’s Integrated Technology Center.
