Thales Alenia Space signed a contract with PT Telkom Satelit Indonesia (Telkomsat) as a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), a public digital telecommunications company in Indonesia, to build the HTS 113BT satellite.
It will be a High Speed Satellite (HTS) telecommunications satellite in C / Ku band and will be positioned in an orbital position at 113 ° East.
Thales Alenia Space is the main program and responsible for the design, construction, testing and ground delivery of the satellite. The company is also in charge of early orbital positioning phase (LEOP) and in-orbit tests (IOT).
In addition, Thales Alenia Space will provide the ground control segment and train and support the Customer’s engineering team on site. In-orbit support will also be provided throughout the life of the satellite.
Built on Thales Alenia Space Spacebus 4000B2 platform, HTS 113BT will provide more than 32 Gbps of capacity over Indonesia. The satellite will weigh around 4 tonnes at launch and will be delivered in early 2024 with an expected lifespan of 15 years.
