Unidrain adds contemporary style with a black framed GlassLine shower enclosure

When the Copenhagen-based PR expert installed a new bathroom in her family’s traditional apartment, she opted for a contemporary design with enduring charm. Dark colors evoke hotel chic, offset perfectly by the Unidrain GlassLine shower screen in black.

Luxurious and worthy of a spa

Unidrain products played a key role in creating a whole new feel-good space in an outdated bathroom; the only one in the apartment; Measuring 12 square meters and used daily by a family of four, including two teenagers, it was in desperate need of refurbishment.

The floor, walls, toilet and shower had to be removed and replaced, it required a complete makeover encompassing a new color palette right down to the designer drains. The family wanted something luxurious and spa-like, but also long-lasting. Because it was an older, more traditional apartment, they initially envisioned a more classic, nostalgic look, but ultimately opted for a contemporary solution, favoring exclusive materials and products that suit both a luxury hotel than a house. .

The finished bathroom has high-tech solutions such as a programmable shower-toilet and an anti-mist mirror, but the undisputed star of the room is the elegant shower screen, GlassLine by Unidrain. Preserving natural light from the window was a key part of the renovation, so the GlassLine shower screen was ideal. It allowed light to flow through the room, helping to create an open and airy feel.

Stylish aesthetics and functionality combined

The GlassLine shower screen with a black frame is made of 10 mm transparent tempered glass, available in three sizes: 800 mm – 1000 mm and a height of 2104 mm, the shower screen can be mounted on the left or on the right and can be accommodates tile thicknesses up to 15mm for wall tiles and 20mm for floor tiles. It is discreetly and securely installed without any visible display of fasteners, screws, fittings or gaskets.

The screen is lowered into a shower base below the bathroom floor, before being fixed to the wall, creating a secure, stable and watertight showering space. The black frame sits against the wall covering all edges generating a smooth finish, and the invisible groove in the floor flange meant that installation of the color coordinated black HighLine floor drain was both quick and efficient.

Color was important to the overall look and style of the bathroom; the base tone was made up of dark undertones to induce a more luxurious feel and add to the atmosphere, which combined well with the black frame of the GlassLine display.
